The happiness of the bee and the dolphin is to exist. For man
it is to know that and to wonder at it.

About
Daphnée Ettouati

The dream becomes an illusion only when the reality is in distance… It can be as well a misconception of the reality but
The abstraction is the door of those dreams
without lock or border,
Here is the handgrip of all doors without keys…

I can’t remember the light but it appears like a picture and it’s the only way that I’ve got to write my story in my memory. So that’s why I capture it. Young, but when do we get old?

All is relative, photography too. Started photography for her study, Daphnee kept on going and com-bined different passions, diving and travelling. During those first four years, she experiments different cultures, different life styles by living and working in a few different countries and different depths. Starting in the US, she will have the opportunity to climb, dive and discover the giant. It's from Arizona to New York that an idea will grow in her head. Followed by East coast Australia, Thailand, Malaysia, Indo-nesia and India. Those different life styles will open up new horizons and perspectives. Fascinated by the underwater world, she will finally invite photography in her diving career by trying to limit her shots, and catch the instant like those great photographers of the 20th Century, who were using Instant photography. As much as the extreme below is attractive, the high summits are, too. It’s with her climbing trips that she develops the upper world. She uses the same techniques on earth as she does at sea, so as to catch the poetry of the light by not touching much her shots, by transmitting her vision of a fragile beauty slowly transformed by nature and man. In 2014 she will make her first touristic movie, which is going to give birth to those samples, and probably new expressions.

“100 meters above and under” was a seed few years ago, now it's a growing project of different point of views, exploring two different environments, so far but so close… Climbing and many other destina-tions are coming as there is some to be continued… This website is a start of a long photography film.
As long as it will be light, it will be writers...

A true artist
is not one who is inspired,
but one who inspires others.
